Personality
The narrator calls her the wisest, slyest, smartest fox, and her one great mistake is believing nobody is as smart as she.
Home
She shares a home with Reddy on the edge of the Green Forest, and when the boy finds it she moves by night to the house where she was born.
Friends and relationships
Family: Reddy Fox is the family she raises and scolds, and she leads Bowser the Hound and Farmer Brown's boy far from him when he is wounded. Hunters and dangers: She hunts Danny Meadow Mouse under the snow and Bob White's nest, hoping to catch Mrs. Bob or the chicks. When she catches Peter Rabbit at last, Unc' Billy Possum bites her heel and Prickly Porky's barbed spears keep her off.
Interesting facts
- She loses hounds by baiting them onto the railroad bridge ahead of the train or lying in plain sight as Bowser passes.
- She grins whenever a trick lands.
- She turns Reddy's gunshot into a rhymed rule that a fox must use eyes, ears and nose to grow old.
